Directory of Camps and People

Directory information is presented in two formats: a Camp Directory and a People Directory. The people directory includes email addresses if they have been provided specifically for this purpose.

* People with an asterisk by their name in the directory are lifetime members of the Lake Groton Association.

Camp Numbers

Each camp on the lake actually has two addresses: a lake camp number and a 911 address which is the street address. Prior to the labeling of town roads for 911 purposes, in the 1970s, the camps were assigned numbers for identification purposes for fire safety. These numbers are placed facing the lake and still exist in many cases. These numbers are helpful today in locating camps on the lake. The numbers start at the end of the lake toward the dam on the east side with the Lone Pine Camp as Camp Number 1.

911 Addresses

Each camp has a 911 street address. These numbers are very important to emergency vehicles responding to calls for assistance. The numbers should be posted so they are highly visible from the road and can either be placed on the camp or on a post at the end of a driveway if the camp is not visible from the road. The numbers should be reflective and a minimum of 3 inches high and 2 1/2 inches wide. This is important to the ability of emergency response units to respond rapidly. The 911 addresses were changed in 2004 to enable emergency vehicles to more easily find locations. These addresses are reflected in the directories.
